We celebrated the weekend before his birthday and just had immediate family over to celebrate. I didn't want to have a big production for his birthday, especially since life has been stressful enough for him over the last six months. He got a lot of clothes, toys, and we gave him a radio flyer wagon. Which, by the way, has already caused issues with the girls. Because it has two seats they think that they are for them and that Mom and Dad can just carry Braden. Um, NO! After opening presents, we had cake and ice cream. It's funny to compare all three of the kids and what they did with their cake. Bailey is the dainty child that doesn't like to get dirty. On her birthday, she barely touched the cake because she didn't like the icing on her hands. Brianna, on the other hand, has no issues with getting messy. She literally had cake from ear to ear. Then there's Braden. He did have issues with the cake and being messy; however, because of his eating issues he didn't like the cake and the texture of it. In fact, Robert kind of forced him to get his hands messy and ultimately we ended up with a crying child because he didn't like it. I could have sworn I had an picture of his crying face, but somehow I missed it. Also, Wal-Mart messed up on his individual cake and didn't make it. When my sister picked up the cake they just told her to pick one out that was already made. She said there were only two to pick from. One was a German Chocolate cake and the other was a regular white cake with pink and blue icing. She got the white one, but I didn't want to have it in pictures since it had pink. Thus, we just cut a piece off the big cake for him to eat.

Happy Birthday, Braden
I can't believe my baby is one! He has had the roughest first year of our three kids. He's had bronchialitis three times, RSV, and the flu. Also, with each of these viruses they have created ear infections. As a result, he will be getting tubes the day after his birthday. Also, the ENT discovered that he is tongue-tied and will clipping part of the "skin" under his tongue. We're hoping that this is the reason for many of his eating issues.
