Arriving in Hot Springs

Back in the Spring, my family began discussing the idea of going on a family vacation together. The thought of this made me ECSTATIC!! The last time I went on a vacation with my family was fifteen years ago, almost to the date, when I graduated from high school in 1995. I LOVE spending time with family and being able to go on vacation with them and share in memories with my kids is very dear to my heart. After extensive planning on trying to figure out a when and where that worked out for everyone, we settled on Hot Springs, AR. We found what we thought, more on this later, was an awesome house to rent for an extended weekend.

Unfortunately, Teresa and her family weren't going to be able to attend this vacation. This was a little disappointing, but definitely understood their reasons for needing to stay at home. Brittany, Mom, Mark, and the five of us headed out Friday morning.

We had the car loaded down and Brittany rode with us, while Mom and Mark took their own vehicle. Of course, we had to bring activities for the kids to keep them entertained for the drive up there.

Yes, it's a BARBIE computer.

Crossing the state line...

We finally made it to the house the afternoon and settled in. After dinner that evening, we decided to go into town and walk around. Here a few pictures we took while exploring the National Park.

(Please remember that we had been in the car the whole day and it was VERY humid when looking at some of these pictures.)
