Braden plays soccer

Braden had his first season of soccer, and it was definitely interesting.  We went into it with open minds knowing that a three-year old would only keep his focus for so long.  Robert and I knew that it would be more for entertainment and we were not disappointed.

My little poser.
Braden’s first practice took some enticing by Daddy and Sissy for him to participate.
He finally got the hang of it and started doing the drills on his own.
It was very hot that day and this was the last practice Mom attended.
After a few weeks of practice, it was finally time for the first game day.
He was so excited…
…or maybe not?
What a mess this little boy is!
So, after thinking it over and a lot of reassuring,
he was ready to go!
He played,
and played,
and played!
A much needed water break.
He did a lot of running and apparently running with your tongue out makes you run faster.
However, this was pretty much the only time he would successfully kick the ball.
His second game he was all smiles from the beginning.
He played the entire game, but apparently he was just out there to run because that’s all he did.  However, his way of playing was a little different than what you would expect.  He ran and ran, but not always where the ball was.  Instead, he liked to run around the field.
With each passing game, his excitement started to fade and he wasn’t interested in running anymore.  We went from having a difficult time to getting him to take a break to a difficult time to get him to even go out on the field.  In fact, he really just wanted to sit on the sidelines with mom and dad, along with many of his other teammates.  By the end of the season, it became rather difficult to get a team of three to even get out on the field.  Definitely a season of entertainment!

In true toddler fashion, Braden was a little difficult the morning of his awards ceremony.

My child is the only one that needs to be held while standing in line to get his award.
I thought he was going to successfully walk the stage all by himself.
Well, he made it halfway across…
This boy is ROTTEN!
After the awards, we took the kids to McDonald’s (gross!) for a breakfast celebration.
However, Braden would rather just play “Angry Birds.”
My unsuccessful attempts at trying to get a picture of Braden with his trophy.
Yes he’s dropping it on the ground.
This is the best smile I could get.
I would consider this season a success, even with all the ups and downs.  It definitely wasn’t a winning season, but it exceeded my expectations of entertainment.
