Today we had Braden's birthday party! We went very low key this year and just had family over to celebrate our little man turning 3. The weather was beautiful and I couldn't have asked for a better day!
We started the day by going to church and then ran a few last minute errands to get what we needed for our family get together. While the birthday boy took his nap we did some last minute things to get ready for his party.

I knew that he would be excited, especially since he loved them the day we went to the Arboretum. He finally woke up and here is he discovering his new toy!
However, he wasn't too sure about it and just stood there not sure what to do.
After all, it was only a year ago that he received his little riding toy....
...and the new one probably looked overwhelming to him.
I figured that he wasn't fully awake and knew in his own time he would be ready to ride it and we probably wouldn't be able to get him off of it.
He's getting ready with his sippy cup to take it for a ride.
This might be it?!
Okay, I got this!
After having fun outside and eating a yummy dinner it was time for presents!
The boy was going through the presents so quickly that I had a hard time getting pictures. Also, he was literally throwing his presents which made the girls giggle A LOT. So, of course this encouraged him to do it even more.
Now, it's time to sing Happy Birthday. Braden LOVES this song and wants to sing it all the time. The only thing is we sing happy birthday when it's no one's birthday, so we just pretend that it's someone that he chooses. I've never thought about why he doesn't choose himself until today.
We start singing...
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you, (he's singing with us!)
Happy Birthday dear Braden....
Apparently he doesn't want us to sing Happy Birthday to him. Go figure!! After some hugs and reassurance from Daddy, he successfully blew out his candles!
