After a long day of driving, we finally arrived at the beach condo with our friends for a needed required vacation.
We have been planning this for a couple of months and I don't know who was more excited, us or the kids?
Last night we checked into our "home" for the next couple of days and went into town to get some dinner. The kids were tired, the adults were tired, and everyone was a little "crazy" from being in the car all day. We walked on the beach after dinner and the kids went looking for seashells and crabs. Then, it was off to bed for anyone under five feet tall so that the adults could regain our sanity.

This morning, my little darlings woke up at 7:00 (like clockwork), so Daddy took them to the beach again to walk around and look for seashells. Mommy took this opportunity to get a little more sleep. After breakfast and lathering everyone with sunscreen, it was time to hit the beach!
We took the girls to the beach five years ago, but this was Braden's first time. As we expected, he was very intimidated of the water, so no surfing for him just yet!
Daddy took Bailey out to jump the waves...
Brianna played in the sand,
and Braden? Well……
He started inside the shade tent with me.
He would not come out and was just content to stay in there, so I didn’t push the issue. I knew in his own time he would finally make his appearance in the sun.
I thought this was his BIG moment…
but I was wrong.
He just wanted something to sit on.
I did play him (of course, we were in the tent) and figured out that he did like the sand. It was just the crashing waves on the shore that were scaring him. Once he learned, that we were safe from in the water, he made his debut!!
Daddy decided to build him a sand castle.
Of course, Braden just wanted to destroy it!
We had a fun time on the beach and hopefully tomorrow we will be able to get Braden to actually touch the water, even if it is just with his feet.
Now, two out of three kids are asleep, Daddy went to go get some food to grill tonight, and Bailey and I are just relaxing.
Life is rough.
